Linkin Park to return after 7 years

Their first concert took place, since Chester's death in 2017, last night to a small crowd in California.

This all started a few days ago when the early 2000's nu-metal band silently started a 100 hour timer, both on their website and YouTube. This had fans speculating if they were just announcing old, unreleased music or if they were announcing a tour.

After the 100 hours were up, 20,000 were patiently waiting to see what would happen, they were trolled. The counter started to count back up, glitching at 9mins and 50 seconds, as well as 1hr and 35mins (which equals 95 minutes). After this happened the band posted on their socials with a picture of their old logo with the caption "Be part of something. 9/5/24". This than confirmed fans speculation of a comeback on September 5th, which at the time of writing this, was last night.

The band went live across Instagram and YouTube respectively, with their first concert since 2017. Halfway through their first song, Mike Shinoda was joined on stage by a new singer, Emily Armstrong. While she is not Chester, she definitely tries her hardest.

Before their final song, "Bleed It Out", Shinoda announced that the first song that they played, entitled "The Emptiness Machine" was released, as well as a music video posted after the live stream. They also announced a new album releasing, on the 15th November of this year, as well as announcing a handful of world shows, including London on the 24th of this month. Their new song can be heard here.

Tickets go on sale Friday next week (13th September). They can be bought here.
